Business Card Collection

My client, an employee at Visa, requested three sets of business cards. Each would have a different function. Two of them were intended to be variations on the Visa branding, and the last was geared towards representing the client’s personality.

Each design required a name, job title, two phone numbers (work and personal,) two email addresses (work and personal,) and two QR codes.

Design One

With this design, I intended to create a more formal, modern, yet approachable business card. As Visa is a finance company, the design was created to appear stable and confident through the use of bold blocks of structured color and a simple, stable type hierarchy.

Design Two

This design was to be a departure from the more traditional corporate aesthetic. As my client is a very friendly, warm, and young person, I aimed to create a design that would reflect that friendliness through the use of strong circular influence while still adhering to shapes that evoked the feel of “data” and the precision that one would expect from a finance company.

Design Three

The client requested that the last design be more reflective of his personality and demeanor. I took this and identified three goals: to utilize the color yellow (the client’s favorite color); to evoke a modern, playful aesthetic; to evoke a sense of capability with data and technology. This resulted in a design that leans heavily into warm colors, a rounded font, and bold neubrutalist design that has recently come to personify many modern tech companies.
